Our PRIVATE tour is to explore Jewish history and culture. Jewish presence in the Czech Republic and Prague goes back 1,000 years. Jews have lived in Bohemia and Moravia as early as the tenth century. At the outbreak of the Second World War, there were about 90,000 Jews in Bohemia and Moravia, of whom nearly 80,000 were killed in the Holocaust. Most either died in the ghetto of Terezin or were deported from Terezin to Aushwitz. In Prague, after war, remains only about seven thousand Jews which have kept confiscated things and jewelry of killed Jews. These things became a basis for creation of the largest Jewish museum in the Europe.

This excursion will take the guests into the peaceful Vienna Woods passing through Hinterbruehl, a summer resort and residential area. This excursion will take the guests into the peaceful Vienna Woods passing through Hinterbruehl, a summer resort and residential area. Stop at the ancient Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, founded in 1133 by Leopold the Holy. This romanesque basilica has a contrasting gothic style chancel and an interesting Chapter House, which was once the living quarters of the order and which now contains the tomb of Frederic the Bellicose, the last of the Babenbergers. On to Mayerling, the romantic hunting lodge, where the heir to the throne, Archduke Rudolf and the Baroness Marie Vetsere carried out their suited part. Through the beautiful Helenental, the summer resort of Johann Strauss, the tour continues to Baden, famous as early as Roman times for its sulphur springs and thermal baths. Lunch will be served either in a castle-type restaurant in Baden.
