Prague steam railway enthusiasts can enjoy this occasion to the full this coming weekend. On Saturday they will have the opportunity to ride the Posázavský Pacifik in pursuit of a treasure trove and on Sunday during Children’s Day.

On Saturday 30/5 “Čtyřkolák” (the old four wheeler) of 1917 and the steam engine 434.2186 will depart from Praha Braník Railway Station for the legendary railway track of “Posázavský Pacifik”. The train will cover the most beautiful route of the “Posázavský Pacifik” to Čerčany. Besides the beautiful surroundings of the railway track, built along the Sázava River valley and includes several tunnels and stone viaducts, passengers of the steam train will be able to visit many cultural events and relics in the district of Posázaví.

The Regional Museum of Gold Production in Bohemia in Jílové near Praha, is definitely worth a visit and a special route in Zlatá štola of St. Joseph (the golden passage) has been prepared for visitors. The ticket for the steam train includes a 50% discount on admissions to the museum and the golden passage.

The Technical Military Museum is situated close to Krhanice Station with entry into the museum and the programmes are free of charge.

The ruins of Zbořený Kostelec Castle are not far off and can easily be visited from Týnec nad Sázavou Station and finally Jemniště Castle can be visited from Postupice.

The steam train will consist of period 3rd class wagons with wooden benches and will include a buffet wagon. Tickets and seat reservations can be bought at the booking office in Praha Braník Railway Station daily from 7a.m. to 6 p.m.
