The main assets of the spas in the Czech Republicare their natural resources – mineral-rich water, gases and muds. In the Czech Republic there are a total of 37 spas: 24 of these use natural mineral water in their cures, 10 use mud – various types of mud and peat are used at the spas in Bechyně ,Františkovy Lázně, Lázně Bělohrad ,Lázně Bohdaneč ,Lázně Toušeň, Mšené - lázně ,Lázně Kundratice , Třeboň ,Vráž ,3 are climatic spas – Jeseník , Lázně Kynžvart, Lipová – lázně . It makes sense to get away from chemical-based medicines and return to nature, using the resources she provides and tried and tested methods developed over centuries.So where better to do this than in a country which can boast many firsts in the field of spa care. For instance, nowhere else on earth will you find so many mineral springs in one place as in West Bohemia’s spa triangle, the three points of which are formed by Carlsbad , Marienbad, Františkovy Lázně . The first radon spa in the world was established in the town of Jáchymov. Mineral springs : the composition, temperature and effects on the human body of mineral springs, which rise to the earth’s surface in the Czech Republic, differ immensely.The hottest mineral spring in the Czech Republic is the Vřídlo in Carlsbad (73.4°C), which propels 2 000 l/min 14m into the air. Carlsbad’s other thermal spring waters which contain some 25,000-year old elements, are some of the hottest at 40 – 73.4°C.However, in nearby Marienbad cold water rises to the surface at 7-10°C.Mineral water from Luhačovice at 10-12°C is considered one of the most effective in Europe thanks to a high mineral and CO2 content. The highest content of CO2 in the country can be found in water from Konstantinovy Lázně Iodine-rich water is used in Darkov and Klimkovice as its composition is like that of sea water with a high mineral content.
