During your vacation package or independent tour in Vienna Austria pay attention that the Südbahnhof has completely been shut since 13 December 2009. The new Vienna Central Station will be built there by year 2013. During this multi-year reconstraction , the following Viennese stations will serve as a replacements of Südbahnhof:

Südbahnhof (Ostbahn) The eastern section of the Südbahnhof will remain in operation.  Also, "Südbahnhof (Ostbahn)" railway station will be the destination for local and regional transport in the region.

The temporary Ostbahnhof will offer the usual railway services, such as ticket counters, bakers, etc.

Westbahnhof .The station hall and Europaplatz are shut at the Westbahnhof until 2011 while extensive conversions and new building work take place.  The trains of the Westbahn continue to arrive at this station without diversions. Despite the conversion, you still have access to an information point, ticket counters and machines, the ÖBB travel center, shops, and lockers.
Vienna-Mitte Station. The Vienna-Mitte Station, where the CityAirportTrain CAT and airport express arrive in the city, is being modernised up to mid-2010.   If you prefer escorted tours please, choose one of our European escorted tour and write to ITBC.
