The Hohe Tauern National Park in Austria has two faces: primeval Alpine landscapes, such as glaciers, rock faces and turf and mountain pasture landscapes which have been carefully and painstakingly cultivated for centuries.The Hohe Tauern National Park was established in year 1981 and it was Austria's first National Park. The National Park covers parts of the three provinces of Austria : Carinthia, Salzburg and Tyrol, developed into the larg-est nature reserve in Central Europe.
