18 March - 3 April: classical music, operas, jazz concerts, theatre performances, folk-music, dance, exhibitions and more: spring in Budapest.
For over 30 years the Budapest Spring Festival has been Hungary’s outstanding cultural event. The 2011 Festival is celebrating the 200 years anniversary of the birth of the famous pianist and composer Franz Liszt by featuring his works in several programms. In the last two weeks of March around 97 events await Hungarian and foreign audience in 37 venues in Budapest. Besides classical music, operas and jazz concerts, there are theatre performances, folk-music and dance, exhibitions and other festival-type events
