Jewish Prague and Czech Republic |

Jewish presence in the Czech Republic and Prague goes back 1,000 years. Jews have lived in Bohemia and Moravia as early as the tenth century. At the outbreak of the Second World War, there were about 90,000 Jews in Bohemia and Moravia, of whom nearly 80,000 were killed in the Holocaust. Most either died in the ghetto of Terezin or were deported from Terezin to Aushwitz. In Prague, after war, remains only about seven thousand Jews which have kept confiscated things and jewelry of killed Jews. These things became a basis for creation of the largest Jewish museum in the Europe.
1st day: Arrival in Prague. Tour "Jewish Prague ". Accommodation in Hotel . During Jewish Prague City Tour, you will see : Old–New Synagogue , Jewish Museum displaying the renowned “Precious Legacy” at Jewish Prague, Old Jewish Cemetery with the graves of for example rabbi Yehuda Leib ben Betzalel (the Maharal), rabbi. Avigdor Kara, rabbi Ephraim Shlomo ben Aharon Luntschitz (the Keli Yakar), and rabbi Abraham Reuven ben Hoshke haKohen Katz (the Yalkut Reubeni). 2nd day : Tour Historical Prague. After breakfast , our bus with our guide will take you to the beginning of excursion. And our excursion will start in Royal Palace, St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George Monastery and Golden Lane. A pleasant stroll through romantic Nerudova Lane will lead you to Lesser Town with its famous and marvelous palaces and medieval Charles Bridge ( Karluv Most). Then, all together, we come in Old Town Square surrounded by Old Town Hall with its famous Astronomical Clock, Tyn and St. Nicholas Churches. From Old Town Square, we continue our tour to Wenceslas Square with St. Wenceslas statue . 3rd day: Full Day Excursion to Trebic. Jewich Quarter and Jewish Old Town. Trebic is a city in the Moravian part of the Vysocina Region of the Czech Republic. The Jewish Quarter and St Procopius' Basilica are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the heart of Trebíc’s Jewish quarter is one of the most significant buildings of the former ghetto - the Rear Synagogue. It’s no longer a house of prayer; it belongs to the town and is the starting point for visitors to the Jewish Quarter. 4th day : Half day excursion to Terezin. Formal military fort Terezín built in 18th century by emperor Joseph II. is inherently connected with the history of World War II. Better known as Big Fort - the town of Terezín itself was used as transit camp of Jews from the whole Europe and in the same time during visit of International Red Cross Organization it was misused for Nazi promotion purposes. Small Fort Terezín was a cruel prison of Gestapo - Reich's secret police.
