Firstly we will visit to city Utrecht, with Dutch canals, historic buildings, and cozy Dutch alleys. Enjoy the old Utrecht and discover the most beautiful places of this city. With the Dom Church always visible as the central point, you can safely wander around the medieval streets and along the Dutch canals. Walk through the oldest street of Utrecht along outstanding shops or visit one of the many restaurants and cafes. The city is bustling every day of activities, cheerful people, and a warm vibe. Utrecht surprises every day! During the visit you will see the Buurkerk (Neighbour Church), the Maartensbrug (Martin’s Bridge), the Domtoren (Dom Tower), the Domplein (Cathedral Square), the Domkerk (Dom Church/St Martin’s Cathedral), the Pandhof Garden, the Paushuize (Papal House), the Nieuwegracht (New Canal), the Oudegracht (Old Canal). Our next stop will be at the Largest Castle of the Netherlands. The castle is located on a large Dutch estate, where you can walk around on numerous paths along trees of more than 140 years old. You get all the time you need at the estate to discover and take photos—for example, in the rose garden or of the deer and other animals. The gardens around the castle are inspired by the fairytale gardens of Versailles. Also visit the Port Castle with countless steps and aisles or take a rest in the coach house or Tuyn House. Castle De Haar has 200 rooms with as many as 25 bathrooms. Every room is furnished differently and has its own unique character. Every piece of ceiling, floor, and wall is richly decorated. There are also special antique collections of Chinese and Japanese ceramics from the Far East and a magnificent collection of porcelain, silver, paintings, tapestries, and furniture. Next we will visit to Waterline Museum Fort bij Vechten which is a unique and spectacular museum where you can learn all about the way that water was used in the defence of the Netherlands. Fort bij Vechten was built between 1867 and 1870 and forms part of the New Dutch Waterline. The complex is surrounded by a wide moat and consists of 22 buildings, including flank and reverse batteries, shellproof military barracks and guard buildings. Incidentally, the history of this strategic site dates back even further in time: during the construction of the fort, the remains of an ancient Roman fort were also found in the immediate area. The Waterline Museum has interactive exhibits on the Dutch Waterlines, the Romans and the flora and fauna that can be found on the forts. Here you can learn all about the history of the Netherlands’ largest defensive line. The 50-metre open-air model of the New Dutch Waterline can be flooded just like the real Waterline, and in a unique virtual reality experience you can get a view down onto the entire Waterline from up in the sky. After we will return to Hague.
