Route: Paris - Auvers-sur-Oise - Reims - Champagne cellar - Paris
Duration: 10 h
Our first stop in the tour will be at  Auvers-sur-Oise where we will visit the house where Van Gogh painted his last works before his death in 1890, and learn about his far-reaching influence on 20th-century art through his portraits, self portraits, landscapes and still lives of cypress trees, wheat fields and sunflowers. Take a walking tour of the village, before going to the Auberge Ravoux to see Van Gogh’s bedroom. The House of Van Gogh is the starting point for a acquaintance of the village in the footsteps of the artist. Reproductions of his paintings can be found throughout the village for an unforgettable visit. You will see the beautiful alleys of Auvers-sur-Oise, the wheat fields, Doctor Gachet’s house, as well as the village church and cemetery with Van Gogh’s tomb and that of his brother Theo. Our next stop will be at the Reims region, known the world over for the production of a prestigious product that requires no introduction: Champagne.  During the way you will discover the mountain of Reims with a stop to take a picture and learn about wine-making in the region.  Enjoy the breath-taking views from almost 790 feet up looking out over the vineyards and admire the bell towers of as many as 45 different villages!  During the visit to Reims you will see Notre Dame cathedral, dating from the 13th Century and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A Gothic masterpiece and site of the coronations of the Kings of France, it is also famous for its many statues and stained glass windows. You will then go on to a guided visit of Taittinger or Mumm cellars, and take part in a famous "Cordon Rouge" tasting. You will have free time to enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choosing in the centre of Reims  and a tour of the Moet et Chandon Champagne house cellars followed by a tasting. After that we will return to Paris.
