Firstly we will visit to Bydgoszcz which appears for the first time in historical records on June 28, 1238.  Bydgoszcz, as a city protecting the crossing over the river, was founded most likely in the early 11th century in the area of the present Saint Andrew Bobola Church. Casimir the Great, King of Poland in 1333-1370, was the last monarch from the Piast dynasty and one of the most outstanding rulers in the history of Poland. The King chose Bydgoszcz as an important city protecting the country in the borderland between Poland and the Teutonic State. Casimir visited Bydgoszcz several times, including in 1345, 1347 and 1370. Next we will visit to the charming old city of Torun on the banks of the River Vistula to see all the most significant monuments of the UNESCO World Heritage Site like the Old Quarter which consist of three old districts: the Old Town (1233), the New Town (1264) a nd the Teutonic  Knights' Castle (mid. 13th cent.) During our city tour you will see the Caesar Arch , St. Mary's Church , Old City Market Square (Old City Town Hall, Arthus' Court, Holy Spirit Church, The Star House, rafters' inn, Copernicus Monument, The Rafter), Nicholas Copernicus House ,The Leaning Tower , city defence walls complex , granaries ,Holy Spirit Gate , Royal Route, St. Johns' Cathedral , The Eskens' House , Bridge Gate , St. George Brotherhood Manor and Guardhouse Tower ,Teutonic Castle Ruins , St. James's Church , New City Market Square. Next we will visit the Gingerbread Museum which offers you an enjoyable time while making your gingerbread. While visiting the Museum you will be accompanied and instructed in the gingerbread-making process by a medieval gingerbread master and his trainees. The Gingerbread Museum is an interactive form of experiencing the history of Toruń and the gingerbread making, attractive both for children and adults. You can actively participate in the presentation of the traditional gingerbread baking according to the best recipes from five hundred years ago. Everyone can personally take part in the process of creating the delicacy of Toruń, by adding honey, cloves, crushed cardamom, ginger, cinnamon bark or even a pinch of pepper…; then knead dough, pin it and put into decorative forms. Then, the shaped dough goes into the oven and the participants of the presentation wait for the gingerbread to bake while listening to the legends of Toruń. Also the Gingerbread gift shop offers a variety of gingerbread and a café where you can enjoy refreshments and gingerbread sweets prepared according to many different recipes (you can eat and get a recipe for your favourite snack!). After free time we return to Poznan.
