Firstly we will visit to Bastei is the most famous rock formation in Saxon Switzerland. Bastei and the Bastei Bridge are the highlights of the german Saxon Switzerland National Park area. From the Bastei rocks and the Bastei Bridge you have a wonderful panoramic view over the mountains. You will see the river Elbe, the Lilienstein mountain and Koenigstein fortress just to name a few. Bastei Bridge is a 76,5 m man made bridge which connects the rock formations. From Bastei Bridge you can enter Felsenburg Neurathen which first mentioned in 1755 AD abutted the mighty rocks. It was the largest rock castle in the Saxon Switzerland region and can be reached via the iconic Bastei Bridge. A walk around the Bastei reveals rock-hewn rooms, timber rebates, a cistern, and the natural stone towers. The ruins and the partly reconstructed castle now form part of the open museum at Bastei. Although in ruins, it adds to the intrigue of Bastei. Next we will visit to the Pravcicka gate which is the biggest natural arch in Europe. It is considered the most beautiful natural formation in the Czech-Saxon Switzerland region. In the deep woods, not far from Hřensko, surrounded by a mysterious peace sometimes time seems to stop. For generations it has attracted nature lovers with its magic. When you stand under this stone arch you are amazed by its size. The dimensions of Pravčická Gate are impressive but when seen close up it is truly amazing. The arch spans 26.5 meters. It is 16 meters high, 7-8m wide, the minimum thickness is 3 meters and the top flat is 21meters above the ground. At the entrance of Pravčická gate there are trails and stairs leading to several view points high above the tree tops from where you can see Pravčická gate or enjoy other beautiful views and vistas. When there is nice weather you can even see as far as Decinsky Sneznik. After we return to Prague.
