Our tour will start in Yekaterinburg with excursion in the historical centre of Ekaterinburg, the Ural Mineralogical Museum (a unique collection of minerals (about 10 thousand samples) and handicrafts from stone and bone), the Museum of the History of Jeweler and Lapidary Arts (handicrafts from the Ekaterinburg lapidary factory, modern jewelers and masters of lapidary and people’s private handicrafts from the Ural region). After we will drive to small city Berezovsky where the first gold deposits were found in 1748. Berezovsky deposit is incredibly rich and rather old: more than a thousand mines were built here for 250 years. Today there are only four operating mines and the rest ones have become a history of the town . After we will go to the mountain “Gold hill”. Tourists can descend into the mine (depth up to 8 m) and look at processes of extraction of rock crystal. From the tailings it is possible to pick up samples of rock crystals of various morphology, including carbonates, fuchsite, green tourmaline, manganite, pyrolusite, goethite. After we will back to Yekaterinburg.
