Our first stop in this tour will be at village St. Gilgen where the pretty Alpine style houses a of St Gilgen add a lot of color to the village. Also the St Gilgen is the place where  Mozart’s mother was born. Her father’s erstwhile residence has now been converted into a museum, a stone’s throw away from the lake and is open to the public. There we will sit to boat which reach us to the St Wolfgang which is a charming town situated on the steep banks of the Wolfgangsee. The village’s main fame arose as a place of pilgrimage, and today’s visitors still come to see the same 14th-century church, packed with art treasures.  This church is built on a rocky outcrop, which explains its irregular floorplan. Inside, there are two superb altarpieces: one, by Michael Pacher (1481), shows a rare unity in its composition, blending painting and wooden sculptures, and is a masterpiece of Gothic art. The other, a double altarpiece by Thomas Schwanthaler (1674-1675), is a Baroque masterpiece.  Our next stop will be at Hallstatt which is a picture-perfect town in Austria. Exploring the old town is the best thing to do in Hallstatt. With streets that look like they are lined with colorful gingerbread houses and a gorgeous setting on Hallstatter See, it’s hard to believe that this place is real. Also in Hallstatt you can visit to the Hallstatt Ossuary, also called Charnel House or the Bone House, is the most unusual spot to visit in Hallstatt. In this small cave-like room, over 2,100 skulls and other various human bones are perfectly stacked along the walls and  the skulls painted with roses, wreaths, and crosses. Next we will reach the Hallstatt salt mine. In order to reach the Hallstatt salt mine, we first ride the Panoramabahn (funicular) up to the Hallstatt high valley to the Knappenhaus, the building at the entrance to the salt mine. After touring the world’s oldest salt mine, you will walk via the footpath back to the mountain terminal. Before riding back down to the bottom, we will visit paying a visit to the spectacular Hallstatt Skywalk “World Heritage View” viewing platform, where you will be treated to amazing views of Lake Hallstatt and the surrounding mountain scenery.  Here, 360 meters above the rooftops of Hallstatt, time briefly seems to stand completely still. When you step out onto this imposing viewing platform, walk the 12 meters out to its tapered point, rest your hands on the railing and gaze out on the untamed natural beauty before you – that’s when you will understand exactly what we mean. After we will return to Hallstatt and Salzburg.
