Route: Zaragoza - Logrono - Estella - Pamplona - Zaragoza
Duration: 11 h
Our first stop in the tour will be at Logrono where we will walk through the center , touring its history in the most emblematic points of the city. The visit starts with the “rampart of Revellín”, historic trace of the walls of the city. Close to it, the “Convent of la Merced”, nowadays the Parliament of La Rioja, whose façade dates from the XVII century. Walking through the typical streets of Barriocepo or Ruavieja we find the “church of Santiago”, the oldest church in the city, and the “church of Palacio”, with its magnificent gothic spire. In the park around the Ebro River we can see the iron and the stone bridges which mark the borders of Logroño with the neighbor regions. Following the route of the way to Santiago, we arrive to the famous “Juego de la Oca” (Goose Game), the Pilgrim Fountain, the Pilgrims’ hostel, old houses and restored palaces. Where once was the Jewish quarter, is placed the “church of San Bartolomé” with its great gothic facade. Leaving these typical streets, we arrive to the Redonda Cathedral, with its two twin towers, and with one of Michelangelo Buonarotti treasures inside it. The route goes on with the “Palace of Espartero”, nowadays Museum of La Rioja. The next point to visit is the “Paseo del Espolón”, meeting point for tourists and locals, where the statue of General Espartero is placed. The visit ends in the typical “Calle Laurel”, tasting a “tapa”, and a wine from La Rioja. Our next stop will be at Estella. The capital of the area of Tierra Estella has its origins in Roman and "Vascon" settlements, but it was the king of Navarre, Sancho Ramírez, who founded the current city to attend to the great many pilgrims.Without doubt, Estella is a very charming destination. With every step, it reminds you that traveling in time is possible. Estella was born during the Middle Ages, and since the beginning it became part of the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. Crossed by the Ega River, Estella is covered with beautiful buildings and squares that invite you to spend an unforgettable day. Plaza de los Fueros (Fueros Square) is Estella’s star meeting point. Every Thursday, it is covered with countless produce stalls, attracting dozens of locals and travelers. Only a few streets away from Plaza de los Fueros,  a few minute walk away along Puy Street, you’ll find the neighborhood of San Pedro de la Rua. There, you can visit San Martin Square, which is popular for its sixteenth-century fountain known as the Chorros Fountain. Only a few steps away, you’ll find the marvelous church of San Pedro de la Rua, a seventeenth–century construction whose cloister is a great example of Romanesque architecture in the region. Right in front of it, you can find the Palacio de los Reyes de Navarra (Palace of the Kings of Navarra). Known nowadays as Gustavo de Maeztu Museum, this is the only example of Romanesque civilian architecture in the region. Only few minutes away from there, walking along Curtidores Street, you’ll find the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, whose construction began in the twelfth century and ended in the fourteenth century. On the façade, you’ll find a beautiful representation of the Passion of Chris also you will see the Jewish Quarter of Estella-Lizarra are the church of Santa María Jus del Castillo (a former synagogue), the convent of St. Domingo, the church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Wall of the new Jewish Quarter.
